Field Service Engineer I, II, III

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Project Manager

Manage People: No

Location: 95% Domestic Travel, Headquarters in Marietta, GA | Worksites in USA & International

What You'll Do:

  • Lead advanced circuit breaker testing and system evaluations (LV/MV)

  • Develop, modify, and validate protective relay settings and logic

  • Perform secondary injection testing and protection system verification

  • Troubleshoot complex protection schemes and power distribution systems

  • Lead generator startup, synchronization, and load testing

  • Support advanced VFD configuration and PLC troubleshooting

  • Interpret and evaluate one-line and three-line diagrams

  • Provide technical guidance to Engineers I and Field Technicians

  • Communicate technical findings directly with client engineers and plant managemen

Requirements:

Skillset: 

  • Expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems

  • Experience with advanced testing tools, diagnostic equipment, and protection systems

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, power system protection, and safety protocols

  • Effective communication skills with ability to interface with engineers and plant management

  • Proven time management with ability to lead projects and work independently

  • High attention to detail with commitment to quality, accuracy, and system reliability

Salary Range:

  • The salary range for this position is $48 - $68 per hour, based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant experience. This position also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support employee well-being and professional growth.

Licensing: (All levels, must be obtained within first 30 days if not already obtained.)

  • OSHA 30

  • NFPA 70E

  • CPR / AED

  • Lockout / Tagout training

Preferred Licensing:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license considered equivalent field qualification

  • Pursuit of PE licensure is viewed positively

  • Advanced troubleshooting experience in power distribution environments

  • Comfortable using relay software, test equipment platforms, and digital reporting tools

 

Field Service Engineer III:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered

  • 10+ years electrical, industrial, or field service experience

  • Extensive experience developing and validating relay settings and protection schemes

  • Advanced system-level troubleshooting experience

  • Demonstrated leadership on complex substation or industrial power projects

  • Comfortable using relay software, test equipment platforms, and digital reporting tools
